Unconstrained Supply

TikTok launches Direct Post, Oura rolls out stress tracking, Wealthfront increases FDIC coverage to $8m

Good morning! Hackers are selling genetic data of millions of 23andMe customers, pricing information at $1-10 per user. This is a huge screw up for 23andMe, and they should be expecting some pretty big lawsuits 👨‍⚖️

🌶 Daily highlight 🌶

TikTok launched Direct Post, letting users post directly to TikTok from a range of popular editing apps. The API is aimed at third-party developers who want to integrate more closely with TikTok, with early participants including Adobe Premier Pro, Twitch, and Capcut 🧑‍🎨

Beyond just posting on TikTok, users can also access advanced post controls directly within a partner apps UI – think writing captions, adding effects, and managing audiences for a video, all without leaving the third party app.

Rather than trying to be the best at video creation, TikTok’s betting that it’ll unlock more supply by making it easier for creators to use their favorite editing apps. Given how much Adobe and others are investing in AI, it’s a smart move by TikTok to make sure it doesn’t fall behind the curve 🏃
