Apple unveils its new $3.5k AR headset, Zoom ships AI meeting summaries, Google adds passkey support to Workspace

Good morning! My personal highlight from Apple’s WWDC event yesterday? Announcing a Screen Distance safety feature that tells users to move devices further away from their eyes, just moments before unveiling AR goggles that are literally strapped to your head 😂

🌶 Highlight of the day 🌶

Apple unveiled Vision Pro, its new $3.5k AR headset. Controlled with eyes, hands, and voice, the device is primarily designed for AR but can be switched to full VR mode. Users can connect their Mac to use it inside the headset, and can also sync with Bluetooth accessories such as a mouse and keyboard 🐭

The device mixes together work – it integrates with Microsoft Office and the likes of Zoom – as well as consumer use cases, such as large screen projection for games and video content (Disney+ will be available on launch).

The gap between the product demo and reality gap is the biggest question here. If the product functions as shown in the demo, and that’s a big if, then AI will no longer be the only “next big platform” in town 🚀
