Take and Take

Plaid ships a fraud intelligence network, Snap integrates with Linktree, Open AI rolls out Code Interpreter to all Plus users

Good morning! After Elon Musk proposed a “literal dick-measuring contest” against Mark Zuckerberg, the Taliban has jumped to his aid by endorsing Twitter over Threads. What a strange time we live in 😅

🌶 Daily highlight 🌶

Plaid unveiled Beacon, a collaborative fraud intelligence network. Fintechs must pay Plaid to signup to the network, and will contribute by reporting fraud instances to Plaid. Members can then screen new users against the Beacon network to see if the user has committed fraud on another platform 🎯

Asking companies to contribute sensitive first-party data while making them pay for the privilege seems rich, but Plaid may be able to pull it off. Plaid’s bet is that companies will make the trade in order to reduce operational costs associated with KYC, AML and fraud. Time will tell if they’re right ⌛
