Coda ships an AI assistant, Zoom unveils a docs product, Canva announces an AI training fund

Happy Friday! In a funny twist of fate, AI money is bailing out crypto losses. With Anthropic raising at a $20-30 billion valuation, FTX’s stake will be worth $3-4 billion, making all outstanding creditors whole 👌

🌶 Daily highlight 🌶

Canva rolled out Magic Studio, a suite of AI-powered design tools. Features include auto-transforming designs into other formats, text-to-video generation, as well as other automatic quality editing 🕹️

Canva also announced that it’ll payout $200m over the next three years to designers who consent to their content being used for training Canva’s AI models. Payouts will be determined by contribution to Canva’s dataset, and creators will be opted in by default 👩‍🎨

With Adobe launching its “Stock Contributor Bonus Scheme” last month to compensate artists for AI training, it’s clear that this type of program is becoming an industry norm. The question that remains – will it be enough?
