Outset unveils AI user-interviews, TikTok tests in-app sales of Bytedance private-label items, Google launches perspectives in Search

Happy Monday! A Formula E team was caught red-handed after secretly installing an RFID scanner to the racetrack, which let the team pull tire data from other cars in real-time. Talk about being data-driven 🏎️

🌶 Highlight of the day 🌶

Outset unveiled its AI-powered user interview product, which uses GPT-4 to autonomously lead in-depth interviews 🤖

Customers can share an AI interview link with participants after loading up an interview guide. For any given question, Outset’s AI generates themes, performs basic data analysis, and highlights quotes tied to specific insights.

I think about this type of product as akin to a qualitative survey on steroids - it’s not going to replace the need to speak to users directly, but it’s undoubtedly a useful tool to scale research efforts with minimal effort 🫎
