ByteDance tests food delivery in Chinese TikTok, Google beta tests new ad-targeting, BuzzFeed ships AI-powered quizzes

Good morning! Next time your manager's making unreasonable demands, just be glad you're not a Salesforce engineer. Thanks to consultants paid millions of dollars, managers will now have to require that engineers ship lots of code or say bye bye.

Highlight of the day

ByteDance tests food delivery via Douyin, the Chinese equivalent of TikTok. Users are able to purchase directly from livestreams by restaurants, and Douyin will facilitate deliveries - both for individuals and "group buying" packages. Time will tell if TikTok tries to follow the super-app model.
