Crowdsourced Creatives

TikTok tests ad challenges, Roku expands into live sports, Amazon announces a no-code tool for SaaS apps

Good morning! What’s the newest growth hack for streaming companies? Uploading an entire episode on Twitter prior to the finale dropping 📺

🌶 Highlight of the day 🌶

TikTok is testing a new monetization feature encouraging creators to make branded ads. The in-app Creative Challenge feature lets creators submit video ads to brand challenges, without payouts based on video performance 📈

Of note - these videos will not be displayed on a creators profile, instead running as ads on the For You feed.

Everyone knows that the best TikTok ads don’t feel like they’re ads, and this new test feels like TikTok’s most direct attempt at crowdsourcing creativity for advertiser benefit 💃
