Google to test removing Chrome cookies, 1Password gets into identity management, Neeva pivots to enterprise AI

Happy Monday. After a week in the Great Barrier Reef, I’m back! Highlights included scuba diving and snorkelling in coral reefs surrounded by thousands of fish, as well as swimming at Whitehaven Beach 🏖️

On a separate note, the name “Alexa” has seen the single largest drop in US baby name popularity from 2012 to 2022. Thanks Amazon!

🌶 Highlight of the day 🌶

Google will disable third-party tracking cookies for 1% of Chrome users in just over six months. The change will help developers prepare for Google’s plans to deprecate cookies for all users in H2 2024.

Google’s Privacy Sandbox will replace cookies with a privacy conscious approach to tracking, grouping users into cohorts based on similar browsing patterns.

Given how integral cookies are to product and marketing functions, shit is about to get real 🧨
